Meet Your Host

Hi, I'm Hannah, and I will be your host for your chosen experience.

I tend to be the entertainer of the group, with a board game or quiz up my sleeve in case boredom strikes.

As a teenager, I devoured my mother's Agatha Christie collection and hosted my first murder mystery for my 13th birthday. For my 30th, I hosted a 1920s murder mystery at the Northern Whig, after which friends encouraged me to start my own business.

I then got hooked on the TV Show Traitors and thought I'd try my hand at being Claudia, which has enabled me to add a Traitors experience to my repertoire.

Whether it's a murder mystery, Traitors event or quiz, I enjoy the creative challenge of creating a bespoke experience that your guests will be talking about for years to come.

Devon Adventure

I spent one summer running murder mysteries on a replica ship of The Golden Hind in Brixham Harbour. I wrote the story based on Sir Francis Drake, the first Englishman to circumnavigate the world. Friday nights would see me dressed as a pirate, hosting a variety of parties, including a baby shower.

What is Mystery & Murder

Mystery & Murder specialises in entertainment events, from murder mysteries, quizzes and Traitors experiences. Rather than simply observing, your guests will take part in a highly interactive and immersive experience.

What happens during a murder mystery?

Hannah will arrive dressed up and will be your host throughout the night. Characters will receive an individual booklet with secrets and objectives. They will also receive fake money for bribery and blackmail purposes. During the event, guests will question one another to try to solve the murder. The evening ends with the solution being revealed and a Prize Ceremony for Super Sleuths and Best Dressed etc.

How much does it cost?

Our pricing varies depending on the event and the number of people. Please contact us for more information.

Do you provide the venue?

Unfortunately, we do not provide the venue, but come to your chosen location. We have hosted events in houses, coffee shops, pubs, Airbnbs, a castle and even a pirate shop.

I've booked a murder mystery. What happens next?

You will receive character parts to give out to your guests in advance of the event. These include costume suggestions.

Do your events work with a sit down meal?

For murder mysteries and Traitors events, both involve mingling and time away from the table, and so a sit-down meal, unfortunately, would not work. However, you could serve food before or after, or have canapes.
